Description:
Did you know that Ghana is one of Africa’s largest mobile markets, with about 35 million subscribers and a penetration rate of 119%? We have been engaged in a number of marketing communications-driven consultancy projects with international partner organisations and a major component of production process is pre-testing the commercials prior to airing. To make the process experiential, engaging, and interactive, we used the Kahoot app. Participants of the test log into the app and answer questions about the advertising concept on their mobile phones and tablets in real time. The results are displayed on a screen for all to see with the various scores given by the participants. Similarly, the app is used in staff presentations and strategy sessions to encourage engagement and participation.
Results: Participant engagement and interaction levels have been very high, especially when we displayed the scores in real time on a screen with name identification. The good feelings in addition to the rewards tied to this idea have boosted the active participant involvement of the pre-test surveys and in-house staff presentations.
