Alberto Martínez

Alberto Martínez is the co-founder and Managing Director of Darwin & Verne, one of Spain’s leading independent creative consultancies. With over 25 years of experience in advertising and communications, he is a seasoned leader known for driving strategic growth and delivering business results through creativity.

Alberto began his career at the former GDM (now PBS), before joining Contrapunto BBDO, where he spent a significant part of his professional journey. Rising to the role of Brand Director and Head of Business Development, he led integrated teams across creative, production, digital, planning, media, and analytics, serving as the lead strategist and client partner for major national and international brands.

In 2010, he co-founded Darwin & Co with Carlos Sanz de Andino and Ignacio Huidobro. The Madrid-based agency quickly became a benchmark for independent creativity, managing key accounts such as Direct Seguros, Rastreator, and Qualitas Auto. In 2017, Alberto led the agency’s merger with Social Noise, creating Darwin & Verne, where he continues to oversee operations and business strategy.

Throughout his career, Alberto has worked with top-tier clients including EL PAÍS, Real Madrid, Sanitas, Mercedes-Benz, Admiral Group, Amnesty International, and several public institutions such as RENFE, Tesoro Público, and the Madrid City Council. His work has been recognized at major international festivals including Cannes Lions, EFFIE, El Sol, CdeC, and Ojo de Iberoamérica.

He holds a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the Complutense University of Madrid, an Executive Master’s in Marketing and Advertising from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, and completed the DIBEX digital business program at ISDI.
